About Hades

HADES is a programme where Babcock, in collaboration with the RAF, has standardised a range of technical and support services across fifthteen stations throughout the UK.  Technical services include aircraft operations, aircraft maintenance, mechanical transport, engineering, armaments support, mechanical maintenance and communication and information systems.  Support services include survival equipment, air movements and airfield management, supply (warehousing distribution, domestic supply functions and fuels and lubricants), administrative services, media, training and general duties.

It will deliver to the RAF enhanced and resilient support to operational capability by engaging the workforce to embrace change and innovation, alongside industry best practice.

HADES is central to the integrated operation of each station and Babcock will be collaborating with other contractors to ensure the safe and robust delivery of the technical support provision to the RAF.

Services

Babcock self-deliver a range of services to the HADES contract with a self-delivered on-site service team fully supported from the 24-7-365 HADES Service Centre (HSC) based in Bristol.  These services include;

    • Prepare and maintain site out of hours call out plans
    • Support and Engage in Authority Contingency and Business Continuity Plans / Exercises
    • Participate in arms control inspections, co-operating with all related Authority requirements
    • On sites where we manage fuels, own, manage and practice Station Fuel and Oil spillage plans
    • Provide resource in support of Military Aid to the Civil Authority (MACA), including Military Aid to the Civil Community (MACC) and Military Air to the Civil Powers) MACP
    • Where required, participate in Station major incidents and aircraft crash exercises
